PFC Levski Sofia beat 3-0 Akademik in a game of the 29th round of the Bulgarian football championship, played on May 21, 2011. Levski’s Dani Mladenov scored two goals and Vladimir Gadzhev scored one.
Despite their total domination on the pitch, the Blue needed half an hour to open the score – Vladimir Gadzhev’s free-kick shot stopped into the low right corner of the hosts’ goal. Seven minutes later the Blue missed two excellent chances to make it 2-0, as Marian Ognyanov and Dembele could not find the net behind the hosts’ goalkeeper Stoychev.
The second half started with a torrent of shots towards Stoychev’s goal, as the guests were tirelessly pushing forward time and again, but their efforts materialized only six minutes before full time, when Mladenov’s thunderous volley stopped into the hosts’ net for 2-0. He made it 3-0 in the last minute of the match with a powerful diagonal shot.
