The star of Georgi Asparuhov – “Gundy” starts rising. He will quickly turn into nation-wide favorite combining football skill with nobleness, modesty and correctness. Gundy is shining not only with the blue football shirt but with the one of the national team also. He scores first for Bulgaria on World Championship – in 1962 in Chili against Hungary . Four years later scores the only goal for the team at the World Finals in Great Britain against Hungary again.
During the period “the blues” play unusually attractive football and their trainings even are viewed by thousands of fans crowding to feast eyes on their favorites. It is an event for every corner of the country visited by Gundy, Stefan Abadjiev – “Teko”, Hristo Iliev – “Patrata”, Stoyan Iordanov – “Kukusha”, Alexander Kostov , Georgi Sokolov – “Sokoleto”, Tsvetan Veselinov – “Metsi” and the other teammates.
“The blues” triumph in 1965 with the title afer 12-years break. Coach of the team is the Czech expert Rudolf Vitlachil . In 1968 and 1970 the trophy is “blue” again and in 1969 and 1970 the Club’s show case is filled up by the National Cup. The decade shall be remembered also with memorable matches against the European grand teams AC Milan and Benfica.
In November 1968 Levski wins against CSKA with 7:2 in the most epochal match in the history of the Bulgarian club football.
