Hush before the storm

By contrast with the previous decade the fifties do not offer notably rich emotions for the Levski fans. It is time when the Party-State works hard and unreservedly to enforce CDNV (CSKA later on) as the leading sports and football power in the country. From the force of its imposing position the military club enlists the most talented players in Bulgaria offering them social and living standards impossible for the other teams. In spite of the juncture Levski continues to hold the championship of popularity.
The only title during the said decade is gained by “the blues” in 1953 leaving CSKA behind with one point in the final position. Still the leaders of the team are Vassil Spassov – “the roller”, Dimitar Doichinov , Ivan Dimchev – “Bachin”, Todor Takev – “Totse” Arsen Dimitrov – “Atsko”, Amedeo Kleva .

Gradually by the end of the fifties in Levski start shining talents of Stefan Abadjiev – “Teko”, Hristo Iliev – “Patrata”, Ivan Derventski, Stoyan Iordanov – “Kukusha”, Alexander Kostov, Georgi Sokolov – “Sokoleto”.
