The most successful and dramatic decade for the team. Levski dominates on national stage in spite of the political changes following the Second World War and the Ninth-September coup de’etat.
The team wins simultaneously the title and the cup of the country in 1942, 1946, 1947, 1949 and 1950.
In 1942 the team triumphs with first place in the Sofia group and successive overcoming of Botev (Plovdiv), Atletik (Dupnitsa), Ticha (Varna). In the final is overplayed by Macedonia (Skopje) following wins by 1:0 and 2:0.
During the same period the today Republic of Macedonia was part of the Bulgarian territory.
In 1946 the team leaves Slavia behind in the Sofia championship thanks to better goal-ratio. Then eliminates Ilinden (Petrich), LB 45 (Burgas), Spartak (Varna) and Lokomotiv (Sofia) in the final after 1:0 and 1:0.
Levski is the champion after 6 wins in the final stage and goal-ratio 17:0.
In the meantime in the fall of 1944 the communist regime unites Levski with the Post Sports Club (PSC). The new club is registered as PSC Levski.
In the season 1946/47 Levski finishes second after Locomotiv in Sofia but according to the then regulations the first three teams ranked for the final phase. “The blues” overcome Ilinden (Petrich), Spartak (Varna), Levski (Plovdiv) and Lokomotiv (Sofia) in the final after 1:1 and 1:0.
Since the season 1948/49 the Bulgarian championship is organized in a joint elite state group called “A” RFG .
Levski wins the Cup without any lost match. But, in the end of 1949, the new power again changed the name of the team into Dinamo.
The nest championship starts in September 1949 but continues for 2 rounds only. Qualification tournaments are conducted in Sofia and in the countryside to form the new “A” Group. The new season starts after the Soviet model in the spring of 1950 after the spring/fall system.
With decision of the local federation the DNA ( Plovdiv ) is removed from the new “A” Group and CDNV gets in instead.
During the forties shine the stars of Dimitar Doichinov , Arsen Dimitrov – “Atsko”, Bojin Laskov – “Popeto”, Borislav Tsvetkov – “Juk”, Lubomir Aldev , Lubomir Hranov – “Mistri”, Atanas Dinev – “Nasso”.
